So after much mucking about and some genuine frustration, I
discovered that the reason the uploads were not working the way I
wanted was that my host has a 2 meg limit on uploads through HTTP.
This means that for all practical purposes, there won’t be a media
section here for awhile.
I like my host, really I do. But a
few things are starting to become prohibitive. They run php with
safe mode on which I have generally been able to work around, but I am
beginning to feel constrained.
Good time for me to start working
on my own server. A project I have been studiously avoiding for
some time cause it seems like such a big commitment. But the time
is probably come for me to take the plunge.
