 This is what happens when a generation of kids (myself included) grows up watching Transformers and Voltron and playing Mech Warrior.  A rescue robot is all well and good but how long before they slap some armor plating and a rocket launcher on this bad boy and send it onto a battlefield? 

More importantly, does it come with the enhanced Clan Heatsinks?  Please,  I need a better joke from someone more knowledgable about Mech stuff.

Japanese Dragon Helps Fight the Snow, Crime, and Eats Babies –

Shit is getting crucial over in Japan now that they have this ED2000 mofo rolling the streets. Hyper rescue robot "T-52 Enryu" (rescue dragon) from Tmsuk first appeared in March 2004 but now he’s wandering the highways and byways saving stranded motorists from having to each each other like sashimi. It is 11.3 ft high and with a weight of 11,020 lbs. On February 1, 2006, Enryu showed his POWER in snowy environments and in a test rescued a dummy buried under snow in his car. Enryu can lift 1102 lbs. with one hand and double that with both hands, but then where will he hold is coffee? He’s is still in development and expected to play an active part in rescues where it is difficult to work for human being rescue teams or where there are worries about secondary disasters.

 Ridiculous numbers. Just ridiculous.  Scoring 100 points in a high school game?  I would think there just aren’t enough minutes to do it!  But my favorite snip from the story is this….

  Two-time WNBA MVP Lisa Leslie scored 101 points in a half for Morningside High School in Inglewood, Calif., against South Torrance in 1990. South Torrance refused to play the second half.

Ok, seriously folks.  How can you blame those kids for not coming out of the locker room? Lets say that the half is a total of 24 minutes.  That means that Leslie scored at better than one basket every 30 seconds for the entire half!  Holy inflated stats Batman! 

Look out, Kobe: NYC girl scores 113 in HS game – Epiphanny Prince of Murry Bergtraum High School in New York City scored 113 points in a game Wednesday, breaking a girls’ national prep record previously held by Hall of Famer Cheryl Miller.
